Workshop on Automotive Standards and Regulations in the Americas

In collaboration with The U.S. Department of Commerce (DoC) and the American Automotive Policy Council (AAPC), the Standards Alliance — a public-private partnership between the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)— recently organized a one day workshop entitled “Automotive Standards and Regulations in the Americas” in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Over 70 participants attended the April 22 workshop and addressed issues relating to public safety and environment, as well as technological advances for the prevention of accidents, cybersecurity, and electrical and autonomous vehicles in the automotive sector. Representatives of the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), as well as Colombia, Mexico and industry representatives gave the feature presentations.
