In recognition of the importance of standardization and conformity assessment to the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is pleased to announce that the Standards Alliance Phase 2 (SA2), as part of its public-private partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), will specifically address the COVID-19 response and recovery. To date, USAID has committed more than $1 billion to help fight the virus pandemic around the world, and ANSI is pleased that the critical role of standards that support public health and safety will be recognized with $3.5 million of federal funds and corresponding private sector funds obligated to the SA2.

Lima, Peru – This week, the United States and Peru co-hosted two one-day workshops entitled “Best Practices in the Standardization and Regulation Experiences in the United States and Peru,” in Lima and Arequipa on August 6 and 8, respectively. The workshops were designed to promote transparent, predictable, and effective regulatory practices that will encourage enhanced bilateral trade and investment between the two countries. .
